FREE Chrome extensions that I think are underrated
According to ZDnet, around half of the internet population use Chrome as their browser and just by signing in with your Gmail account on any new computer, you have access to all Chrome Extensions associate with that account. For some people, it might not be a big deal, but as a person who use many computers for different purpose, I saved a lot of time just by having the right Chrome Extensions. Here are 5 Chrome extension* that really boost my productivity:
*I try to avoid great but common extensions such as Adblocker and Google translate,etc as I assume you already have those
1. Toby
I use library’s PC a lot because all of the free apps that school paid for, which I can’t have in my PC (of course I could have purchased but well, the projects are just for recreation). What usually happens is that the work is undone and I need to save the tabs for future uses. Bookmarks might do the work just fine, but what if I can just save everything with one click and reopen those with another? That’s when Toby will come in handy.
With a lot of features ranging from categorizing multi-tabs based on projects or tags, you will no longer have to manage all the on-going researches by going back to chrome history.
If you are a fan of multitasking and having heavy workload, this might be your new best virtual assistant.
2. Webtime tracker
Unlike Toby, which helps you cut down time by managing multiple tabs at once, Webtime tracker reports your browsing habit while you are unaware of.
Reports range not only daily but all-time, you can have a better overview of your behaviors on the internet, thus make a better adjustment.
3. Bitly
For some people, Bitly works as a URL shortener that is convenient to spread out when hosting online events. At the same time, we can track how many people click on the link by logging in our Bitly account.
This is not only good for A/B testing but also more gaining insights of the audiences interested in our contents.
A part of such insights could be accessed without login to Bitly account, which makes it possible to know more about a partner or competitor’s campaign. For example, BeatTheBush is a great YouTuber I am following, and he uses http://bit.ly/2FBAeLA as a URL to his T-shirt store. However, by adding a “+” sign to the end of the link, I can see some stat of this referral link.
4. Vidyard go video
If you want to share captured screen video to your partner/client/friend quick and easily, this might be your savior. With a clean and simple interface, it takes no time for you to learn how to use the app, you can create unlimited high quality screen recording and send it to everyone in your social circle. Vidyard will also notify you every time a new person view your creation.
5. Video speed controller
Internet is a great source to learn anything and YouTube is my favorite place to gain extra skills. However, the video speed sometimes a bit too slow. Unlike the default setting of YouTube or many online video hosting platform, we have limited options of video speed. Solution? Video speed controller!
